And, we’ll begin with the following:
You’re Throwing Away Money If You’re Taking These Vitamins:
In an attempt to better our health, and despite the lack of scientific evidence that they don’t do us much good, we keep pounding in the vitamins and nutritional supplements.
For example, research shows that 1 in 2 Americans take vitamins or some form of nutritional supplement.
That’s a huge market – over 21 billion in sales last year!
Not only are most of those billions wasted on products that don’t deliver on their promises, we don’t really know how safe they are…
The FDA only spot tests 1% of the 65,000 dietary supplements on the market.
That leaves a lotta room for manufacturers to cut corners when it comes to quality control and ingredients.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not strictly regulate herbs and supplements. There is no guarantee of strength, purity or safety of products, and effects may vary.
You should always read product labels. If you have a medical condition, or are taking other drugs, herbs, or supplements, you should speak with a qualified healthcare provider before starting a new therapy…”
Tests show that these so-called ‘health products’ just don’t work.
There’s also scientific evidence that some vitamins and herbal supplements can hurt our health – and are fatal if abused.

Overall, research concludes that for the average person, vitamins and herbal supplements don’t help our immune systems, they do nothing for our joints, they don’t relieve stress, they don’t prevent colds or prevent or cure common health problems.
Unless you have acute nutritional deficiencies, a healthy diet is all you need.
Ideas for maintaining a healthy diet:
- Eat more starchy carbohydrates: fruit, vegetables, potatoes, bread, rice, pasta and cereals.
- At least 2 meals of fish per week: include 1 meal of oily fish like herring, sardines, mackerel and salmon.
- Cut down on processed food, salt, sugar, alcohol and don’t smoke.
- Stay hydrated: drink 6 – 8 glasses of water daily.
- Snack on nuts, avocados and olives.

Is Microwaving Food In Plastic Safe:
Like you, I mostly use glassware when microwaving food.
And, before I eat microwaved food, I wait as long as I microwaved it…
Basic protocol for microwave safety.
Yet, despite the rumors that it’s unsafe, we sometimes microwave food in plastic and styrofoam containers, don’t we?
And, that is – and it isn’t, a safety issue.
Generally, it all depends on how the plastics and styrofoam containers were made.
For the most part, we’re ok – if they’re labeled ‘microwave safe’.
However, they’re not always labeled.
Some plastics contain bisphenol-A and phthalates, both toxic if they leak into our food.

We Distrust Our Government:
In 1964, polls showed that 70% of the American public had faith in their government.
By November 2015, that 70% number had fallen to a dismal 19%.
Plus, in a recent Gallup poll, only 20% of us trust tedhe presidency. That poll also showed our trust in congress at an all time low of 6%!
