Hope you’re happy and living a full life, no matter what your age.
And, I hope you’re healthy, have more money coming in than going out, and love yourself so you can let other people love you, too.
I do think loving yourself is important.
Yet, when I try visualizing doing so, I feel, well… squeamish. Sometimes I can ‘almost’ appreciate myself. Mostly though, I’m lucky to kinda tolerate this old boy.
But, that’s me, and I’ve no problem loving my wife and family. How they feel about me is on them. That’s good enough for me.
On the mean time, let’s look at the current Aging News:
National Senior Citizens Day:
Mark your calendar, Aug. 21 is National Senior Citizens Day!
So get out there and gallivant around your community! Dig out your two-toned platform shoes, (I just know you still have a pair) your white belt, your wide collared shirt and your favorite polyester trousers, put’em on and do us kids up in style!
I’m counting on you to help us show we’re still the goofiest generation ever. And damn proud of it!
Senior Citizen Playgrounds:
Just when we’re getting used to ‘them’ leaving us seniors along, here come community playgrounds designed for seniors. I mean, it could be a good place to hook up, but can you say: my daddy’s broken and, I’m gonna sue your a*s?
Social Security Cost-Of-Living-Adjustment:
Looks like the COLA’s of our Social checks aren’t gonna increase enough to treat your sweet to a “Happy Meal”… again!
Advance word from the Trustee’s administering the fund, indicates a shocking 1.5% increase only. Shame on them, eh?
Google’s Anti-aging Research Site:
Big bucks Google’s anti-aging research company Calico LLC, has finally published a website we can now use.
I’m expecting exciting discoveries from this group of highly educated and bright people. You too, should keep an eye on them. Google’s Anti-aging Research Site
Estate Planning For Senior Citizens:
Having an updated will helps, but not always enough. IRS and other government agencies are just waiting to cannibalize your estate and hassle the hell outta your survivors. Sad but true.
I’ve found some USA.GOV information web pages that cover writing wills, estate planning, how to choose an executor file, and those sorta things, that can help you make informed decisions when it comes to your final wishes. You can also get the info when you click on the following link: Senior Citizens Estate Planning Guide
