It was so muggy out on the back porch that Ginger (my Jack Russell Terrier) and I have moved inside to the Lazyboy in my home office.

New paper released by Harvard Gazette lays out a very strong warning that this country will soon be out of suitable housing to fulfill the needs for the maturing Baby Boom Generation.
The paper describes the expected inadequacies and, being ‘know-it-all’ Harvard, makes a few suggestions…

Perceptive Senior Citizen Rant:
I don’t ride the bus, but one of our Far Side Of 55 kids does, and she’s got a few gripes about that.
And, she takes the time to unload on the general public’s treatment of us senior citizens, and of her personally.
For one thing, she’s fed up with society at large assuming she doesn’t have relevant skills and talents to contribute to the betterment of the whole universe and that sorta thing.
Plus, she’s lost her patience with people offering her help with cell phones, and other tech gadgets.
(I’m thinking she didn’t have a huge reservoir of patience on the first dog eared place)

Missing Protein & Dementia:
Researchers from the University of Warwick in the UK, have linked people missing the protein MK2/3, with having early signs of dementia.

Fish Oil & Cognitive Decline & Alzheimer’s:
New study that tested 229 older adults taking fish oil supplements showed that they didn’t lose the power of their cognitive functioning while taking supplements.
Yet, there was no evidence showing any improvements with those tested that were already suffering from early signs of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Bummer…
Still, the researchers recommended continued use of fish oil supplements.

High Blood Pressure & Aging & Dementia:
Millions of Americans suffer from chronic hypertension (high blood pressure). High blood pressure is a serious condition that’s sometimes fatal.
And, that ain’t usually a good condition.
But a new study about the effects of hypertension in old people, says people who develop high blood pressure while in their 80’s are less likely to have problems with dementia and developing Alzheimer’s Disease as they continue to age.

Eye Tests Finds Early Signs Of Alzheimer’s Disease:
New evidence found that routine eye exams can detect early symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease. Well, well, something else to worry about!
I suppose early detection is kinda like ‘forewarned is forearmed’…
Maybe gives us a better fighting chance, in our fight against Alzheimer’s disease and dementia?
