How the heck are you?
Hope you’re feeling good and having just about as much fun as the legal limits…
Whatever those are in your town.
I’m still hopped up from my hearty breakfast that included sausage gravy and 4 cups of black coffee.
Ironically, since I published some sleeping tips a couple weeks ago, I’ve fallen back into my life-long pattern of having sleep problems. Click the following link to check out that post: Bedtime Habits
Case in point, woke up last night just before 1:30 and couldn’t go back to sleep.
Instead of laying there and maybe waking up Treasa (who usually gets up at 5 to go workout at her gym), I eased outta bed, grabbed yesterday’s clothes, and Ginger and I, head into my comfy little home office.
After booting up one computer for music, and one for working, started doing some research for an article I want to publish here on this website.
But, couldn’t concentrate.
Instead, we went into the kitchen and I made myself a big mug of green and black English tea and brought it back into my office to sip on.
Having already given up on researching, I decided to finally get started going through a ‘how-to-blog’ educational course I’ve recently invested in.
After all, I’ve been ‘blogging’ here for some months now. So I figured I might as well learn how, or something kinda similar.
Didn’t take long for boredom to rear its leering head.
Which was surprising.
I’ve always been a good student. And, have seen the rewards from being a life-long learner. But, I gotta tell you, I’m having some problems getting interested in this highly recommended blogging course.
Still, I stuck with it for over a hour. But finally admitted I was spinning my wheels, and gave it up…Too
By then it was after 4 A.M. and I wasn’t ready to go back to bed. Plus, I was hungry.
Hold on, because this is where sausage gravy comes in…
I usually make my own breakfast. Five or six days a week, I have a tasty and healthy concoction that I make with our Magic Bullet.

This morning I just wasn’t feeling it…
Don’t know if it was from lack of sleep, or just good sense, but I had a craving for county cooking. Which was fortuitous, as that’s about the only kinda cooking you can order at the breakfast joints around here.
On the way out the door, I gabbed my wallet, my phone and got outta Ginger’s way so she could follow me from the front, and hit it to my favorite grits and grease eatery, Flapjacks, a mere 11 miles southwest of where I’m now sitting.
I won’t say I go there often, but stuck way back in a corner, I sorta have ‘my’ booth. And, as she’s always the same one, seem to have a regular waitress. That could have something to do with me always leaving at least a 40% tip.
One never knows though…
While poor Ginger is waiting for me in my van, I order my regular breakfast, their Country Omelette. Uh, I think I’m seeing a ‘regular’ pattern here.
Let me tell you what’s inside this artery-busting, 4-egg omelette… hashbrowns; sausage; onions; green peppers; tomatoes; 2 different kinds of cheese, and the whole thing is covered with sausage gravy.
Plus, it comes with grits and toast smothered with real butter. Oh Lord, add some hot sauce, and it’s damn near fit to eat!
In a feeble attempt to not kill myself at one setting, I always have them hold the grits and toast. Truth is, I wouldn’t have enough room for them anyway.
Don’t like to brag, but that was one dandy, if somewhat deadly, meal. And, I’d do it all over again…
As I write this, we’re back home, and it’s just pushing 7 o’clock.
But, the sun is shining and Treasa’ll be back from her morning workout by 7:15.
And, I guess I’m about the luckiest man in the world.
Talk to you next time.
Ideas for me, your aging related story, or comments are very damn welcome…
